SCOPE OF THE CONFERENCE

The main themes of the conference are:

  1. The role of agribusiness in the economies at different levels of development
  2. Structural changes in the agribusiness sector against the background of changes in the national economy
  3. The problem of food security in theory and practice
  4. Impact of the food economy on the welfare
  5. The importance of the food economy for the national labor market
  6. Impact of economic crisis on the agribusiness sector
  7. Prices in the agri-food sector against the background of prices in the national economy

All papers are subject to review.

Accepted articles in English will be published in

  • The Scientific Journal of Warsaw University of Life Sciences, series Problems of World Agriculture (Zeszyty Naukowe SGGW w Warszawie, seria Problemy Rolnictwa Światowego).

Accepted articles in Polish will be published in:

Participants will receive a set of conference materials on the day of the conference.

The cost of participation in the conference with the publication is 175 EUR and includes participation in sessions, conference materials, publishing accepted papers in the reviewed scientific publications, and lunch.

The cost of participation in the conference without publication is 75 EUR and includes participation in sessions, conference materials, and lunch.

In case of two or more authors who apply with a paper, one of them pays full charge (175 EUR), and others just the cost of participation (75 EUR).

SPECIAL THEMATIC SESSION

“SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND AGRIBUSINESS”

During the conference  “The food industry as a sector of the national economy” there will be a special thematic session held “Sustainable Development and Agribusiness” in English, organized by Visegrad University Association.

Application procedures and fees are the same as for the whole conference. Please indicate that your paper refers to the special session.

Application deadline for the special session is October 15, 2012.

Scope of the special thematic session:
  1. Methodologies for Measuring Sustainability in the Food System.
  2. Economic Valuation of New Technologies and Institutional Innovations for Improving Sustainability in Agribusiness.
  3. Impact Assessment of New Sustainable Food Chains, New Technologies and Governance Structures.
  4. The Role of Policy Measures in ensuring sustainability of agribusiness sector.
  5. Main Dimensions of change of the CAP and its implications for the sustainability of agribusiness.

We accept papers for this session only in English. The editorial requirements for the english-language papers remain unchanged. Accepted papers will be published in:

  • Scientific Annals of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development (Roczniki Naukowe Ekomomii Rolnictwa i Rozwoju Obszarów Wiejskich)  or
  • a monograph (it refers only to the papers sent for this session)
